Hurricane Dorian Relief Efforts Update
September 30, 2019
On September 1, Hurricane Dorian made landfall as a category 5 hurricane, battering The Bahamas with 185 miles-per-hour winds. Dorian is the strongest hurricane ever to hit The Bahamas. More than 76,000 people have been affected, and an estimated 15,000 people are in need of humanitarian aid.
Noble Air Charter is firmly committed to The Bahamas hurricane recovery. Noble Air Owner, Jonathan Jackson, reported: “We’ve sent, and delivered, 12 full flights of supplies (totaling 15,000 pounds), thus far to Sandy Point, Marsh Harbor, West End, Treasure Cay, Scotland Cay, and Nassau. We’ve also transported 25 displaced people back to the United States, at no expense.”
Here’s a list of supplies that are still needed for the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts:
- First-aid Kits and Medical Supplies
- Chainsaws and Generators
- Baby Formula, Diapers, and Bottles
- Sanitary Products and Toiletries
- Personal Hygiene Products
- Bed Linens
- Bottles of Water
- Non-perishable Food Items (canned goods)
- Dishwashing Liquid and Laundry detergent
The government and people of The Bahamas certainly appreciate the outpouring of relief and concern in the wake of the hurricane. But more help is needed. Lack of power supply continues and nearly all supply chains for the islands have been significantly compromised.
If you’re able to help with the Hurricane Dorian relief effort please donate items listed above, and visit our GoFundMe page now if you can make a monetary donation.
