Visit San Juan, Puerto Rico
October 28, 2020
“Hi Mom…I’m calling you from Puerto Rico and I don’t even need an international phone plan!”
Puerto Rico – the Island of Enchantment – is a U.S. territory with a landscape of mountains, waterfalls, beaches, and rainforest. You don’t need a passport to visit this Paradise, everybody speaks both English and Spanish, credit cards are accepted, and there’s no need to exchange your U.S. Dollars upon arrival.
The festive city of San Juan is the perfect place to experience true Puerto Rican culture. With its long history, Old San Juan is known for its more than 400 16th and 17th century buildings from the Spanish colonial period. Its narrow side streets reveal many tucked-away shops, restaurants, and attractions. And some say that San Juan is one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Be sure to check Puerto Rico’s current travel rules, then when you’re ready, all you have to do is throw your sunglasses into your purse and call Noble Air Charter. We can arrange your flight at the drop of a hat and whisk you away in no time flat.
The DIY Tour
Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all that San Juan has to offer. Not only are the sights mesmerizing, but getting to them by trolley is absolutely FREE!
Pro tip! Puerto Rico has a laid-back culture. So if things don’t open when the signs say they do, get on ‘island time’ and relax.
Isla Verde Beach – Can’t wait to go swimming? Isla Verde is a beautiful beach only minutes from the San Juan Airport. The combination of white sand, a shallow entry, warm and clear water, and happy people everywhere make this a beach to be experienced.
Castillo San Felipe del Morro – Surrounded by grassy hills, the stone castle rises majestically from the headland. And while El Morro may be an impressive sight from land, it is a terrifying experience when viewed by sea. For many attackers, it was the very last thing they saw. This fortress has seen many battles over the centuries, from Sir Francis Drake’s attack in 1595 to the 1898 Bombardment of San Juan by the US Navy. It withstood all onslaughts and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. Don’t miss it!
Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico – The history of Puerto Rico as told through the lens of its artists. The Museo offers a wonderful mix of visual and immersive art. Don’t miss the sculpture garden in the back.
Stellaris Casino at the San Juan Marriott Resort – “Hit a jackpot in the first 5 minutes,” said Art M on Tripadvisor. “My wife hit a 2 grand jackpot that carried us through all our vacation spending. Nice!!”
Shopping in San Juan – Shopping, shopping everywhere! The Mall of San Juan, Plaza Las Americas, Santurce POP, The Outlets at Montehiedra, Montemar Plaza, and so many more! Need a bigger aircraft to bring home all your purchases? Just let us know.
Casa Bacardi Rum Distillery – World’s largest premium rum distillery featuring historical tours, mixology classes, tastings & an outdoor patio. Take the ferry from Old San Juan to Cataño for an unforgettable experience.
